MEADE – Virginia Mae Boehmer, age 89, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at the Lone Tree Retirement Center, Meade, Kansas.

She was born May 13, 1919, at Sapulpa, Oklahoma , the daughter of Mose L. and Toni (Kanuaka) Knight. As a young girl she attended school in the Sapulpa and Tulsa areas, graduating from high school in Tulsa . Upon her graduation, she attended business school, where she received her bookkeeping training.

She was a resident of Dallas, Texas, moving to Fowler, Kansas, in 1991, later to Plains, and to Meade in 2005. She was a retired Bookkeeper.

Virginia enjoyed working crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and friends.

She married James Turner in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He passed away in June, 1964. She later married Ralph Boehmer in 1967, at Dallas, Texas . He passed away in November 1980.

She is survived by:

She is preceded in death by her husbands, and a son, Larry Turner in 1994.

Private family celebration of life services will be held at a later date as cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.

The family would welcome memorials to the Lone Tree Retirement Center, in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
