MEADE - Thomas Randall Benear, 78 died May 9, 2009 at home in Meade,KS.

He was born August 29, 1930 on a farm south of Meade. He is preceded in death by his father Thomas Edward, mother Ida, two brothers- Bob & Frank and two sisters-Mary Lennon & Marjorie Ruth.

On October 19, 1953 he married Betty Barnes of Bloom, Ks. She survives.

Other survivors include sons, Roger of Wichita, Doug (Jonna) and Darwin (Michelle) both of Meade, daughter Teresa Wallace(Scott) of Baltimore, Maryland, brother Don(Mary) Benear of Supulpa, OK., 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

While his time with us, he served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. After serving he worked for Phillips 66, Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline and retired from USD #226 as a custodian in 1996 after 28 years of service.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary Chapel, Meade. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.
