PLAINS – T. John Lennon, age 53, died Monday afternoon, August 2, 2010, at the Meade District Hospital, Meade, Kansas.

He was born July 22, 1957, at Port Isabel, Texas, the son of John Thomas and Mary Kathryn (Benear) Lennon. As a young boy he attended the Meade and Plains, Kansas school systems. A lifetime resident of Meade County, he was a self-employed automotive mechanic.

John enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, caring for animals, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by:
A daughter, Ashley Payne of Spiro, Oklahoma

A brother, Dan Wann of Plains, Kansas

Three sisters, Kathryn Lennon of Plains, Kansas
Kay Mora of Winfield, Kansas
Ida Pearl Bottorff of Medora, Indiana

Many nieces and nephews

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Danny Ray James; and a special friend and companion, Peggy "Candy" Constello.

Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2010, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Rich O'Toole presiding. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
