Obituary

PLAINS – Robert Dale (Bob) Stout, died Friday, January 19, 2018. He was born July 31, 1935, the middle child of William Eldon Stout and Mildred Faye Connery Stout. He attended Alden schools, and graduated in 1953. He then attended Sterling College and played on the baseball and football teams. After one year of college, he joined the Army and served with pride during the Korean Conflict. It was during his service in the Army that he met his wife of 60 years, M'Lou Reed Stout. They were married February 14, 1957. To this union three children were born: William Reed Stout, Will Robert Stout, and Willet Roann Stout.

Bob and M'Lou raised their family in Sterling, KS where Bob worked for Co-Op for many years. He returned to school to become a draftsman. Bob worked for Beech Aircraft and Boeing where he worked on the cockpit of the original 747. He then went back to his roots as a ranch hand which took the family to Colorado and eventually back to Paradise, KS.   It was while he was in Paradise that he answered the call of God to become a minister in the Methodist Church. He served the church for 21 years. One of his favorite ministries was the Boots and Bible Church camp at Camp Lakeside. After retirement he continued to serve the Lord in Volunteers in Mission. He and M'Lou traveled many miles with their travel trailer to repair and build for those in need.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sister Joan and Thais, daughter Roann, grandson-in-law Drew Miller, and a great-grandson, Dyron Schutte.
