Rebecca Carpenter, 73, passed away on August 1st with her family by her side in Springfield, Missouri.

Rebecca was born to the late Frank and Helyn Muzzy, August 28, 1947, in Lawrence, KS. She graduated from Mobridge High School in South Dakota. She married David G. Carpenter in 1968 after he returned from service in the Vietnam war.

Rebecca is survived by four children: Jeanette Hall, of Springfield; Robert Schreiner, of Rehoboth; Louise Journagan, of Springfield; and Erin Leverington, of Springfield. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Rebecca was preceded in death by her son David Wesley Carpenter in 2000 and her loving husband in 2003.

Rebecca dedicated her life to caring of others. She began her career by earning her Certified Nursing Assistant degree. Then went on to become an EMT and Respiratory Therapist. Rebecca was a force to be reckoned with. Once she set her mind on a task, she never gave up, regardless of the circumstance. As her health declined, she requested that her passing be a celebration of a life well lived.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery in Meade,
