INMAN – Melvin L. Reimer, age 81, passed away Friday afternoon, September 21, 2018, at the Hospice House, Hutchinson, Kansas.

He was born March 23, 1937, at Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of Henry B. and Justina (Goertzen) Reimer. As a young boy he attended grade school at Inman, Kansas.  He later attended Central Christian High School, Hutchinson.  After his graduation, he attended McPherson College for two years and later Tabor College for four years, receiving his Bachelors degree.  A lifetime resident of Inman, he was a clothing merchandiser and salesman for Morris and Son Fine Clothing in McPherson.

He was a member of the Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church, Inman.  He enjoyed restoring antiques, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends.

On September 25, 1999, he married Waneta McDowell Glenn at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, Meade, Kansas. She survives.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2018, at the Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church, Inman.  Cremation has taken place in accordance to his request.  Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Emmanuel Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Meade.

The family would welcome memorials to the Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church or Hospice and Home Care of Reno County in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, Kansas.
