MEADE – Kenneth N. Novinger, 83, died July 11th , 2009 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita. He was born in rural Meade County, June 30th, 1926 to Hollie (Haddox) and Pat Novinger.

He was a barber in Meade for many years and retired from the Navarre Co-Op in 1991. As a WWII Navy veteran, he was a long time member of the American Legion and member of the Masons.

On June 14, 1947, he married Wanda Marie Lee who preceded him in death on June 29, 2005. One daughter Teri preceded Kenny and Wanda in death on February 16, 1986. He is survived by two sons, Steve of Montrose, Colorado, Ron and his wife, Kathy of Meade, a daughter Carol Hicks and her husband Larry of Ramona, Oklahoma. He has three deceased grandchildren, eight surviving grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Other survivors include a brother Ross of Farmington, New Mexico.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at the Meade Church of the Nazarene. Graveside services will be at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday and from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.

The family would welcome memorials to the South Wind Hospice of Pratt, Kansas, in care of the funeral home.
