FOWLER – Young, John Orville, 65, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away June 2, 2009 after a long illness at the Manor Care Center, Wichita.

He was born November 21, 1943, in Montezuma, Kansas, to Robert and Mary (Joy) Young of Fowler, Kansas. John graduated from Fowler High School and attended Panhandle Eastern College in Goodwell, Oklahoma, and Central Christian College in McPherson for a time. John also served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. His many interest include his cars, nature, the American Indians, his drawings and art.

He is survived by:
Two daughters, Johnette Brewer and Chandra Young-Roe both of Colorado Springs, Colorado

His father, Robert Young of Hutchinson, Kansas

A sister, Roberta Babb of Wichita, Kansas

Two brothers, Wes Young of Fowler, Kansas
Robert Young II of Denver, Colorado

John was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Joy Young and his grandparents.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2009, at the Fowler Cemetery, Fowler, Kansas, with Reverend Ron Willard presiding. Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research foundation in care of the Fowler State Bank, Fowler, Kansas. Cards and condolences may be sent to Robert Young, 507 Centre Ct., South Hutchinson, Kansas 67505 to be shared with the family.
