MEADE – Frieda Isaac, age 91, died Friday evening, December 12, 2008, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas.

She was born August 11, 1917, at Meade, Kansas, the daughter of J.E. and Lena (Pauls) Wiens. As a young girl she attended school in rural Meade County. On May 9, 1937, she married John J. Isaac at Meade. Upon their marriage, the couple made their home in Meade.

Frieda was a member of the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church, rural Meade. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and attending to her flowers.

She is survived by:

A son, Larry Isaac and wife, Becky of Overland Park, Kansas

A daughter, Shirley Zortman and husband, Cay of Meade, Kansas

Two brothers, Eldo Wiens of Meade, Kansas
Ed Wiens of Valparaiso, Indiana

Three sisters, Esther, Agatha, and Helen all of Meade, Kansas

Six grandchildren, Todd and Natalie Isaac, Kelli Curry, Kristi Stallings, Max Wheeler, & Margo
Shelton

Eight great-grandchildren, Reese, Regan & Colton Curry Allen, Kyra, & John Shelton
Chase & Katelyn Wheeler

She is preceded in death by her husband, John J. on October 16, 1988, and two brothers, Elmer & Erwin Wiens.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at the EMB Church, rural Meade, with the Reverend David Cummings presiding. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Interment will be in the EMB Church Cemetery, rural Meade.

The family would welcome memorials to the Great Plains Christian Radio Station or the Beam Senior Center, both in care of the mortuary.
