Eva L.
Lundeen
Apr 28, 1936 — Aug 19, 2026
Fowler
FOWLER - Eva L. Lundeen, age 90, passed away on the morning of August 19, 2026, at the Heritage Home in Alma KS.
She was born April 28, 1936, in rural Milan KS, the daughter of Wesley and Irene (King) Donley. Eva was raised on a dairy farm. As a young girl, she attended the Milan school system, graduating from Milan High School in 1954. After her graduation, she attended Southwestern College, Winfield KS, where she studied business and met Doug, her future husband.
On July 29, 1956, she married Douglas Lundeen, in Milan KS. After they wed, the couple made their home in rural Fowler KS. A longtime resident of Fowler, she worked for 22 years for the Fowler
State Bank while raising their family. She was an active member of the Fowler United Methodist Church and the C.C.C. club.
Eva treasured her faith. She looked forward to her morning coffee and conversations, watching birds,
reading, helping Doug on the farm in her younger days, and attending her children's activities. She was an attentive daughter, caring for her father through cancer and later welcoming her mother into their home to care for her.
In her later years, Eva took pleasure in attending her grandchildren's events. She also found immense joy in traveling out west with Doug and their friends. Eva had a vibrant spirit and a well-known love for butterflies and the color purple, which she always saw as symbols of hope and renewal. Most of all, she delighted spending time with her family
-- in particular, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
After Doug retired from farming in 2019, they moved to Wamego KS, to be closer to family who could help care for them.
She is survived by two sons, Jay (Jolene) Lundeen, Manhattan KS, Steve (Robin) Lundeen, Wamego KS;
a daughter, LeAnn (Brent) Medley, Olathe KS; a sister, Louan Shore, Morrison OK; 11 grandchildren, Kaylee (Josh) Wheeler, Brady (Sarah) Lundeen; Wes (Rachel) Lundeen, Megan Hoag, Nick (Maleah) Lundeen, Chad (Skylar) Lundeen,
Lexie (Taylor) Headrick, Lane Lundeen; Allison (Alex) Ondracek, Nolan Medley and Blake (Megan) Medley.
Eva is also survived by 16 (soon to be 17 great-grandchildren), Cason, Brynlee and River Wheeler; Elijah and Jessa Lundeen; Rhett and Maelee Lundeen; Tinley Hoag; Haven and Hudson Lundeen; Camila, Sylas and Baker Headrick; Olivia, Holly and Elsie Ondracek and she eagerly anticipated the arrival of Theodore Medley.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Doug Lundeen, and her parents Wesley and Irene Donley.
In accordance with her request, cremation has taken place. A joint celebration of life for Eva and Doug will be held at a later date in Fowler KS. Interment will follow in the Fowler Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Heritage Home, Alma KS, in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade KS.
