MEADE – Elma I. "Reny" Geddes, age 78, died early Monday morning, June 29, 2009, at the Meade District Hospital, Meade, Kansas.

She was born May 11, 1931, at Bates City, Missouri, the daughter of Elmer and Iris (Roles) Adams. As a young girl she attended the Bates City school system.

On January 19, 1949, she married O.M. Geddes at Lexington, Missouri. In 1964, the couple moved to Meade, Kansas, where they made their home. Reny was a homemaker, volunteered with the Meade County EMS, and had worked as a cook at the Meade District Hospital.

She attended the First Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Roy Wade Geddes of Meade, Kansas

Three sisters, Betty Davis of Odessa, Missouri
JoAnn Shepherd of Odessa, Missouri
Joy Tye of Odessa, Missouri

12 grandchildren 17 Great-grandchildren

She is preceded in death by two sons, James Fred and E.C. Geddes; and three brothers, Howard, Nelson, and Jessie Adams.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Jones Funeral Home, Odessa, Missouri. Interment will follow in the Odessa Cemetery, Odessa. Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, is in charge of local arrangements. Jones Funeral Home, Odessa, Missouri, will be conducting services in Missouri.

The family would welcome memorials to the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
