MEADE – Edward P. Mein, age 72, passed away Saturday morning, September 25, 2021, at LaSalle, Colorado.

He was born April 1, 1949, at Dodge City, Kansas, the son of Herbert L. and Rachel Iva (Barragree) Mein. As a young boy he attended the Meade school system, graduating from Meade High School. He later attended Dodge City Community College, the University of Kansas, and the University of New Mexico. Over the years he worked overseas as a driller on various oilrigs and was a police officer.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren.

He married Kathy Kirsling. After several years of marriage they divorced.

He is survived by two sons, Preston Mein of LaSalle, Colorado, and Reilly Mein of Meade, Kansas; and ten grandchildren, Braetyn, Talon, Shawn, Alexandria, Malachi, Keagan, Tristan, Treyvan, Varrick, Braven.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lawrence Mein and William Mein; and a sister, Delilah M. Mein.

Memorial services will take place at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
